This pictorial guide will take you step by step through the process of making a fused paper cut block. This method uses your printer to make a freezer paper pattern.

The delightful mini quilts to the right were made by fusing a paper cut to a background fabric. This tutorial will take you through the steps necessary to make your own mini quilts.

The quilt to the left was made with no binding. It was stitched around the outside then turned inside out.

Regular binding was applied on the quilt at the right.

	If your printer will take a cut sheet of freezer paper, open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and print the design to a pre-cut sheet (8 1/2" x 11") of freezer paper. Then go to the last step on this page. If your printer doesn't feed a sheet of freezer paper you may still be able to create a printed freezer paper pattern by using the following method. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOUR PRINTER IS PRONE TO JAMMING. USE THIS METHOD AT YOUR OWN RISK. Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and print the design to blank paper. Cut a piece of freezer paper 8 1/2" x 9" .
	Line up the freezer paper with the left, right and bottom sides of your printed pattern. You should be able to see the complete pattern through the freezer paper. If not, reposition the freezer paper until it completely covers the pattern.
	Carefully tape the top edge of the freezer paper to the printed pattern. Press the tape down firmly. Tape from the left edge to the right edge. You may need several short pieces of tape. The printed pattern, freezer paper and tape will be going through your printer. Be sure that all edges are firmly adhered to the printed pattern so that the tape will not stick in your printer.
	Remember: DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOUR PRINTER IS PRONE TO JAMMING OR IF IT WON'T TAKE THICKER PAPER. Place the paper in your printer so that the printing will be on the freezer paper . Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and print. This time the printing will be over the original paper pattern on the freezer paper. Remove the freezer paper from the first sheet and the tape.
	Cut out the freezer paper pattern using paper scissors. . I like to use a 7" pair of scissors or smaller. Larger scissors are difficult to handle.
