Back basting dark fabrics continued

Step 3: Remove the Glad Press'n Seal® from the paper pattern. Smooth the Glad Press'n Seal® over the back of the background block.

Use a rotary ruler to align the background fabric and the registration marks on your Glad Press'n Seal® to be sure the design is centered on your background square.

Close up of alignment. Note the diagonal registration marks on the pattern were transferred to the Glad Press'n Seal®. The rotary ruler is aligned from one point to the opposite point. The diagonal registration marks line up along the ruler's edge.

Your block is now ready to applique using the back basting method. Be sure your tiny applique stitches go through the Glad Press'n Seal® as you applique. Your stitches will perforate the Glad Press'n Seal® making it easy to tear and remove the Glad Press'n Seal® after all your applique is complete. Do not remove the Glad Press'n Seal® until you have completed all of the applique on the block.

Check out my "Celestial Chorus" pattern. All the of the blocks with the dark black background were done using Glad Press'n Seal® and back basting.
