Apple Blossom Quilts Newsletter

June, 2018

Dear Quilter,

Wow!  It has turned VERY, VERY, VERY hot here in Iowa.  Summer has arrived with a vengeance.  It is the perfect time to stay inside and quilt.
I have completed the first pass quilting on "Connie Sue's Sketchbook".  I have quilted the sashing. cornerstones and borders.  I then took it off the frames and sewed on the binding.  I can now take it with us on our trip to New England in August.  Before then I hope to put it back on the frames to quilt the individual blocks.  Sure would like to have it completely done before the first of August.  We will see.

Lesson 6 - " Tweaking Your Applique"

No matter how careful you are, you are bound to have an occasional problem with your applique edge.  It may be less than smooth or it may have pokies.  Or as you applique you may loose your basting stitch that you are using as a guide.  This month's lesson will address all of those potential problems and give you some idea of how you can either lessen the frequency of those problems or how to correct them after they have occurred.    Click here to download Lesson 6.
